I was just displaying my knowledge of it.
I am going to buy the book soonz

IcarsuS' Tutor: I covered my ass by writing this, so when the inspector comes in and asks, 'what are these doing standing around?' I can just give him my summary that basically says they're morons.

Farseer trilogy, one of the best fantasy series I've read so far ;)

<thread necromancer>
I dunno if it's my FAVOURITE book but I've read this book recently and it just doesn't let up. It's called Ice Station by Matthew Reilly (Australian Author) and it's just always got something going on and is excitement+.

I highly suggest it even to people who don't read books.

I've started reading a Dean Koontz book afterwards (Seize the Night) and despite it being fashionable to rip on DK the pace is just not in the same league, I'm really looking forward to the next Reilly book that's waiting in my drawer at home.
(A book has to be ABYSMAL for me to not finish it once I've started ;) House of Seven Gables comes to mind)

Just got done with one I really liked.  Summerland by Michael Chabon, it's officially a kids book, but a kids book in the same way that the Harry Potters are.  Adults can enjoy it too.  Michael Chabon is also getting very popular in the scifi area.

Update to my previous post:
The next Matthew Reilly book I read was Area 7, it's not quite as good as Ice Station IMO but it fragrantly messes ALL OVER Dean Koontz books. I'm using the DK comparison because they both write about action oriented government departments etc.

Anne Rice- The Vampire Chronicles. None of this Twilight trash, jeez.

She takes a wicked mythical creature and queers it up with glitter. EPIC. FAIL.

Mangas: Bleach, Vampire Knight, Fruits Baskets and Death Note.

I've thought of a wonderful present for you...shall I give you despair?

Anathem by Neal Stephenson is just about one of the best things I've ever read.  In the book's time line, about 3600 years ago there were the Horrible Events.  All the records were lost, and no one really knows what happened except that they were caused by science running wild.  So the government sent all the scientists into sort of monasteries, the Avout had limited access to the outside world, and the outside world had limited access to the Avout.  Until a crisis that can't be handled by either the avout or the saecular power hits their world.
Anathem is damned good, can't recommend it enough.

Just to take this away from it's heavily LotR-influenced state, here's mine :P

Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy (who could forget this? It's an absolute classic)
Remote Control by Andy McNab (been ages since I read it, but it's pretty damn good)
Seven Ancient Wonders by Matthew Reilly (great Australian author - I love the sense of adventure in this)
The Last Templar by Raymond Khoury (very good read; I suppose you could call it an action/adventure "Da vince Code"esque book - although I've never read that, it's supposed to be an influnce in TLT)
His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (incredibly interesting, great read; definately recommended - although I must admit, I prefered it before the movie "The Golden Compass" came out and ruined it a bit...)
Do YOU want the Australian flag to look as silly as this? No?
