Music Festival
« on: September 14, 2009, 09:31:32 AM »
I went to an annualy held music festival yesterday. There were 20,000+ people there and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I was up front for every band. The music rattled my body, and I dunno how many crowd surfers I passed above my head. I could literally feel every bass pedal hit.

I got to hang out with a few of the bands and got pictures and autographs with some of them.

Lineup:
Alice in Chains, Mudvayne, Our Lady Peace, Hollywood Undead, Cage the Elephant, Hurt, Red, Cavo, Sick Puppies(From AUS), and Halestorm, plus local bands Three Barrel, Chapter of Progress, Shamus Stone, and Hollows End. Few of them are well known, but I have a feeling some of them will be huge.

Halestorm was the opening act and they were by far one of the best. Im not usually fond of female singers, but I was blown away by them. I got to talk to them afterwards and got a picture with their beautiful singer.

Im sunburnt and sore today, and its totally worth it.

Any of you ever been to a big show?

Is it the dreams that make us real?

I know, Im really bringing back a dead thread, but Im really really hoping I to go here this year:

http://www.rockontherange.com/lineup.html

I'd kill to see Coheed and Cambria. I'd also like to see Bullet For My Valentine, Nonpoint, and Halestorm(again). Most of the other bands I dont care for, or forgot they even existed.

Is it the dreams that make us real?

I bought my ticket, Im seeing Coheed(along with all the others) in May. $140 for 2 days of music. I'll need to get a hotel and what not. Music starts around noon and ends about 12-1 am. Its gonna be fantastic.

My goal is to get a picture with Claudio, and buy that band a round of beers.

Forgot to say how ridiculously awesome the festival was. I got home Sunday at 3:30 am and my ears stopped ringing Wednesday. I'm covered in really dark bruises, and I was sore until Wednesday.

Every band rocked soo hard.

Bands I saw:

Day 1:
Sevendust(Great opening act. They got everything moving quick)
Drowning Pool
Killswitch Engage(Best Holy Diver ever)
Puddle of Mudd
Skillet(Only part of their set)
Papa Roach
Deftones(Only parts of their set)
Rise Against(Only parts of their set)
Nonpoint(Amazing)
Three Days Grace
Godsmack(Amazing show. Bad ass drum duel)

Day 2:
Apocalyptica
Five Finger Death Punch(Insane crowd. 3rd row back)
Bullet for my Valentine(Front row. Absolutely amazing)
Amberlin(Only part)
Coheed and Cambria(Fromt row. Got amazing pictures)
Theory of a Deadman(Only part)
Slash(Only part)
Seether
Rob Zombie
Limp Bizkit
