FMA: Brotherhood
« on: November 08, 2009, 02:05:16 AM »
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Anyone watching it? Its FMA according to the manga. No breaking off into its own thing. I think its about 32 episodes long.

I've seen two episodes and I like the art alot more than the orignal FMA.

Is it the dreams that make us real?

It was nostalgic watching it for all the classic manga jokes I have to say. My only minor problem is it isn't 100% faithful which to me is kind of stupid but I can ignore it for now.
I haven't watched the more recent ones because it's catching up on my collection and I wouldn't mind watching it en masse.
Some people say the art is worse but I just think they are used to the old type and as a fan of the manga I have to say Arakawa's artwork is better... SHE ROCKS I TELLS YA!

I'm waiting for either A) all the episodes to pile up, or B) waiting for an English dub, as I watched FMA in english.

Although the original voice acting was good (Thank You, Vic Mignogna!) I wouldn't put too much faith in them with the other terrible dubs. But, as referred to, if they use the old cast then I will be a very happy fan.

Aye, the full original cast returned for both the Japanese and English audio. The English version is out there somewhere. I heard Hulu. The subbed is on the Funimation Youtube account.

[EDIT] Looks like Hulu is subbed as well, but they are trying to get the dubbed one, too.

Time to revive this thread;

Starting Saturday, February 13th, Adult Swim will be showing FMA:Brotherhood. Which means the English versions will soon be available to watch online at Hulu, Funimation, or the Funimation youtube page.

The second I heard Als voice I said "ew" and changed it. Its definately not the original voice actor. Im glad I have the subbed ones!

Edit: Found this:

Reprising their roles from the first series:

Edward Elric – Vic Mignogna
Winry Rockbell – Caitlin Glass
Roy Mustang – Travis Willingham
Lust – Laura Bailey
Envy – Wendy Powell
Gluttony – Chris Cason
Maes Hughes – Sonny Strait
Fuhrer King Bradley – Ed Blaylock
Riza Hawkeye – Colleen Clinkenbeard
Jean Havoc – Mike McFarland

New Cast Members:
Alphonse Elric – Maxey Whitehead (Antonio from Romeo x Juliet, Czeslaw
Meyer from Baccano)
Scar – J Michael Tatum (Eneru from One Piece, Isaac from Baccano)
Isaac McDougal – Bryan Massey (Ladd from Baccano, Nino from Gunslinger
Girl: Il Teatrino)

Doesnt sound like Christopher Sabat as Maj. Armstrong either, but really close.

Also, they murdered the opening. The first set of opening/closing credits are the best in the entire series.

Oh they better not have changed Armstrong's voice! He's hilarious.
